Our Story

Go back to 2010.  We traded a small Connecticut town for the rolling hills of Tennessee — horses and all — and settled onto 36 acres in Hohenwald. Our little log cabin filled up fast with family, critters, and memories, so we eventually built our forever home just four driveways down on 56 acres… the place that inspired the name Four Doors Down Farm. The horses are still here with us, grazing the same pastures that welcomed them on day one.

What started as a simple hobby — pouring candles for friends and neighbors — slowly grew into something much more meaningful. We learned just how powerful a scent can be: how it can lift a mood, spark a memory, or bring a smile without saying a word. Today, we’re proud to share that same joy beyond our front porch. Simple Scents is our way of bottling up warmth, comfort, and a little Southern heart, and offering it to you wherever you call home. What began as a small-town passion project is now a chance to brighten your day, one Simple Scent at a time.
